Square Enix announced via Twitter last night that they’ve finally finished Kingdom Hearts III. The series has been in the making for over a decade, with the release date of Kingdom Hearts 3 being moved from 2018 to 2019. Now that development is officially finished, we can expect Square Enix to meet the release date of 29 January 2019.
Kingdom Hearts III promises to deliver a rich and beautiful adventure. It introduces the first Pixar-based world to the series with iconic Toy Story characters like Buzz and Woody. The hero of Kingdom Hearts III is, of course, Sora, as the protagonist, who is joined by Donald Duck, King Mickey, and their Monster Inc. counterparts.
I’m proud to unveil an extended version of the trailer that’s been playing in NA cinemas. And guess what? We’ve wrapped up development of #KingdomHearts III!
If you haven’t had the chance yet, now would be a good time to prep by playing 1.5+2.5 & 2.8. See you next month! – Nomura pic.twitter.com/NvZYBut3WI— Kingdom Hearts (@KINGDOMHEARTS) November 20, 2018
Kingdom Hearts III concludes the story of the battle between Sora and Xehanort and mostly focuses on the events leading up to that final confrontation. At the heart of the adventure lies a story of friendship and courage, of heroes and villains, and meeting the most adorable characters.
With the December holidays coming up it would be good to brush up on the history of the Dark Seeker saga by playing KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, available on the PlayStation store for R779, or you can pre-order the KINGDOM HEARTS All-In-One Package for R1629. The Standard Edition is R999 for PS4 and Xbox One.
Kingdom Hearts III features an upgraded combat system that includes better AI and Key player transformations. It includes a host of Disney characters and multiple worlds and it might just be the grandest adventure of 2019.
