The next entry in the Planet of the Apes saga will kick off production soon. Called “Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes“, the film will pick up after 2017’s War for The Planet of the Apes and mark an “all-new chapter” in the story. 20th Century Studios says the film will start production next month with Wes Ball, the man behind the Maze Runner series, set to direct the film.
We don’t know much about the Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes at this time. 20 Century Studios released a simple concept art (seen below) for the film without much story to go on. The production company did also reveal some casting for the project including Owen Teague (Black Mirror and the newer It films), Freya Allen (The Witcher), and Peter Macon (The Orville).
We also don’t know how 20th Century Studios plans to release the film. Previously, most of its films were released directly on Hulu. Prey, for example, was the latest production to come out of the studio and it was released directly to Hulu and even Disney+ in some regions.
20th Century Studios hasn’t revealed any theatrical information about Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes yet. There’s no release window or date at the moment. It is too early to suggest that the film will skip cinemas.
A new saga begins.
