Kung Fu Panda 4 First Trailer Cast Revealed

Kung Fu Panda 4 Gets First Trailer Without The Furious Five

Dreamworks Animation has released the first trailer for Kung Fu Panda 4 ahead of its release in cinemas next year. The full cast of the upcoming animated movie was also revealed, which disappointed some fans who learned that the cast for the Furious Five would not be reprising their roles.

The first trailer for Kung Fu Panda 4 shows Po as he continues his adventures alongside Master Shifu, this time seeing the familiar villain, Tai Lung, making his grand return from the first movie. However, the main villain this time seems to be a master known as Chameleon who has the ability to shapeshift and seemingly adopt (or steal) the powers of other kung fu masters. Po is up for a pretty big challenge this time and he doesn’t have the Furious Five to support him.

The cast list for Kung Fu Panda 4 includes Jack Black who will once again voice Po alongside Dustin Hoffman returning as Master Shifu. Ian McShane will also reprise his role as Tai Lung and so will Bryan Cranston, who voices Po’s father Li. Unfortunately, the Furious Five will not be joining this entry as actors Jackie Chan (Monkey), Angelina Jolie (Tigress), David Cross (Crane), Lucy Liu (Viper) and Seth Rogen (Mantis) aren’t part of the cast.

However, some new faces will be joining the cast like Crazy Rich Asians actress Awkwafina as Zhen, Suicide Squad‘s Viola Davis as the villain Chameleon and Everything Everywhere All at Once Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan as Han.

The plot description for Kung Fu Panda 4 reads:

“Po is gearing up to become the spiritual leader of his Valley of Peace, but also needs someone to take his place as Dragon Warrior. As such, he will train a new kung fu practitioner for the spot and will encounter a villain called the Chameleon who conjures villains from the past.”

Kung Fu Panda 4 arrives in cinemas on 4 March 2024. Watch the trailer below:
