Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox Series X/S Series S Split-Screen Co-Op

Latest Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch is a Massive 21GB

The latest patch 6 for Baldur’s Gate 3 comes in at a whopping 21GB and includes several quality of life changes and improvements to the game. Larian Studios teased the upcoming patch in a social media post, confirming at least a couple of things that players can look forward to. Patch 6 is expected to drop sometime this week for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, though it will be released on Mac at a later date.

Larian Studios teased some of the features that will be tweaked and implemented in Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 6. The first will be a time-saving change that allows players to dismiss and recruit new party members in camp in the same screen without having to do those tasks separately.

Additionally, automatically triggered dialogue will now attempt to priotise the player character (Tav) as the main speaker during dialogue so other companions probably won’t take that spot anymore. It was always a headache when conversations would automatically trigger and the game picks the closest companion to initiate dialogue, even though they’re not suited/skilled for speech checks (i.e. Karlach or Lae’zel).

We’ll have to wait for the full patch notes to found out exactly why the install size clocks in at 21GB. Fans speculate that there’s a lot more to the patch than Larian Studios is letting on, which could include newly added dialogue, cutscenes or significant tweaks to the gameplay. The studio already confirmed that we can also expect tweaks or changes to romance, though we’ll have to see what that means.

Baldur’s Gate 3 previously took home Game of the Year at The Game Awards last year along with a number of other category wins including Best RPG and Best Community Support. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Alan Wake 2 trailed close behind in other categories too, including nominations for Game of the Year.
