Latest Helldivers 2 Update Adds New Enemies and Weapon Customisations

Arrowhead Game Studios has released a new update for its co-op third-person shooter, Helldivers 2, adding new enemies as part of the Illuminate Faction as well as new weapon customisations and more. The full patch notes are quite extensive and have been posted online if you’re curious to see the finer details of the update.

Some new enemies being introduced in the latest Helldivers 2 update 1.003.000 include the Stingray, Crescent Overseer, Fleshmob and more. Additionally, players will get to tinker with new weapon customisations in the name of democracy. Beyond that, Arrowhead Game Studios also provided a ton of key bug fixes and improvements. Describing the new weapons customisation system, Arrowhead posted:

“With the new Weapon Customisation system, you can now tailor your favorite weapons to match your combat style and preferences once you’ve progressed and unlocked different attachments. Whether it’s tweaking sights for precision, changing color patterns, adjusting magazines for ammo capacity, muzzles to optimise weapon performance characteristics or adjusting underbarrels for the handling you want, you’re in command of how your weaponry performs on the battlefield.”

The customisation also comes with a bunch of weapon balances and tweaks, most of which are decent improvements. This likely won’t be the last time that Helldivers 2 gets re-balanced or tweaked but it should tide fans over for all the new content available in the latest update.

Helldivers 2 is available on PS5 and PC, though an Xbox port is unlikely to happen. A report from back in November 2024 clarified this, claiming that an Xbox version of the game wasn’t on the table anymore. Of course, plans could’ve changed since then and Arrowhead Game Studios might be working on an Xbox Series X/S port as we speak. However, it’s proven to be quite a hit on PS5 and especially PC, enjoying thousands of returning players on a daily basis.
