Layers of Fear, the upcoming “reimagining” of the horror franchise from developer Bloober Team, has received an official release date of 15 June 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. In addition to the release date announcement, Bloober Team also revealed the game’s PC system requirements which are decently hefty if you’re planning on experiencing the Ray Tracing features in 4K.
Layers of Fear is not a remake or reboot but rather a “reimagining” of the horror series which encompasses the first Layers of Fear, Layers of Fear 2 and the Inheritance DLC. The new game aims to merge all previously released games into one definitive experience with an “overaching narrative” over the franchise. It’s also being built in Unreal Engine 5, which has so far showcased some pretty impressive visuals.
