It seems Apple isn’t the only tech brand working on a slimmer phone this year. Samsung is also gearing up to release what the brand is calling the “Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim”. Leaked photos of the device have surfaced online, revealing an impressively thin body that is 2mm thinner than the flagship Galaxy S25. The leak comes a week after we reported on the iPhone 17 Air from Apple.
From a design point of view, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim doesn’t change much besides the thinness. It will reportedly have a thickness of 6.4mm, making it 1.2mm thinner than the Galaxy S24 and 2mm thinner than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The phone will include the same triple-camera design that packs a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens with a 3.5X optical zoom. Samsung has reportedly achieved this camera array through what the company calls a new ALoP, All Lenses on Prism, design.
ALoP arranges the lenses in front of the prism rather than behind it. This contributes to the thinner form factor of the camera array and helps keep the camera bump and essentially, the entire phone thin. The phone will also come with 12GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, similar to the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup.
Samsung hasn’t said anything about this Galaxy S25 Slim. The company is expected to host its Galaxy Unpacked event on 22 January, where it will showcase the leaked Galaxy S25 lineup. However, reports claim this new slim phone won’t be part of this event. The source of the leak says Samsung “may” showcase the phone, but it is expected to get a full reveal in May.
By the sound of things, Samsung might tease the Galaxy S25 Slim next week, but the phone might get a delayed launch to May.
We’ll share whatever news Samsung drops next week during the unpacked as it happens. If the Galaxy S25 Slim is there, you’ll know about it.
