Legacy of Kain Survey Asks if Players Would Like the Franchise to Return

A new survey from developer Crystal Dynamics is asking if players would like to see a return of the Legacy of Kain franchise. The “Legacy Of Kain Franchise Survey” uploaded by the studio asks several questions related to the return of the long-dormant franchise. The company recently revealed that it had re-acquired some of its most prized IPs following its detachment from Square Enix, which includes Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain.

Of course, this survey could simply be to determine if there’s enough public interest to see Legacy of Kain make a return in some form. Whether this means through a reboot, remake or continuation of where the series left off, it’s unclear what Crystal Dynamics plans to do with the IP next now that it seemingly has a little more independence and control over projects under Embracer Group.

MORE LEGACY OF KAIN – Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver Remaster in Development – Rumour

Last year, a rumour suggested that a Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver remaster was in development but it never saw the light of day. Plans probably changed when Crystal Dynamics were sold off by Square Enix or the rumour was simply false. Either way, this survey is now a good sign that the studio might be planning a revival.

The Legacy of Kain series saw several releases across the PS1 and PS2 generations, including the popular Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. Unfortunately, the franchise was buried as Crystal Dynamics shifted its attention to other, more bankable IPs like Tomb Raider.

If you’d like to participate in the recent Legacy of Kain survey, you can do so right here and hopefully be another voice from the masses asking for the return of the franchise.

As for what’s happening at Crystal Dynamics right now, the studio is currently working on the next major Tomb Raider game.
