To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Minecraft, LEGO is releasing a very special set called The Crafting Table. This 1,195-piece set is aimed at 18 and up and will launch in August. Of course, it is as Minecraft as it gets.
LEGO says the set includes familiar biomes, favourite mobs and hidden Easter eggs from the Minecraft video game. The Crafting Table looks exactly like a crafting table from the video game but features an open diorama cut-out where you’ll build the finer details into the unit.
Inside the block, there are 12 biomes including the Plains, Taiga and Cherry Grove. Each biome also features an iconic set piece. The Plains, for example, packs a village, Taigi has a dripstone cave and Cherry Grove includes a mineshaft.
Alongside the rest of the build, The Crafting Table Minecraft LEGO set also comes with eight micro figures. These include Steve, Alex, a skeleton, a Creeper, and a pig. There are also five mini-builds and stickers that feature catchphrases from the game.
The Crafting Table is a fairly large set. It isn’t the biggest around but once built, it will sit at 14cm x 15cm x 15cm.
This new Minecraft LEGO set joins other adult-themed sets which have gained popularity over recent months. There’s the massive Lords of the Rings Barad-dûr set which recently launched for R8,499. There’s also the recently announced Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree.
At the moment we don’t know when The Crafting Table will launch in South Africa. It is scheduled to release on 1 August in the United States. You can find out more about the set here.
