Level-5 is teasing a new game. The studio behind Yo-Kai Watch, Ni No Kuni and the classics including Dark Cloud and Rogue Legacy will host a showcase event on 24 September where this new game will likely be announced.
At the moment we don’t know what this game is. However, back in February this year, CEO Akihiro Hino teased what looked like a cat character on his X account. The pink cat isn’t part of any currently-known series from Level-5 so fans suspect the new game revolves around the character. The same cat originally appeared at the end of the Level-5 Vision showcase back in November 2023.
There’s a good chance this new game revolves around this cat creature but we’ll likely get more information around this game during the showcase later this month.
Level-5 is also working on the new Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. The game is in development for Nintendo Switch. It was originally meant to launch in 2023 but was delayed into 2024. Level-5 was then set to launch the game on 10 October but in August, the studio delayed the game indefinitely.
Fans are hoping the new announcement revolves around a classic sequel like Dark Cloud or Rogue Legacy. However, those IPs are owned by Sony so I don’t think it will happen. Other fans are hoping for a Ni No Kuni 3 reveal. Given Level-5’s great JRPG past, whatever the studio announces would be welcome. I just personally hope it isn’t another Yo-Kai Watch game.
You’ll be able to tune into the Level-5 stream on 24 September. We will also share the news once it happens. You can stay up-to-date on the event here.
