LG is the latest brand that wants AI to be the biggest selling point of its TVs in 2025. Joining the likes of Samsung, which also recently detailed the Vision AI suite, LG is throwing AI at everything it has to offer across its TV range in the months ahead.
The LG 2025 TV lineup is led by the new M5 OLED. This new TV comes in 65, 77, 83, and 97-inches and relies on the company’s Zero Connect Box to wirelessly stream content to the TV. The M5 is the brand’s flagship TV, but if you want a more affordable, but still expensive model without the wireless box, you can opt for the G-Series.
This year you’ll get the G6 OLED. It is the brightest OLED LG has ever made. The company says the G6 uses the latest Brightness Booster Ultimate technology that “enhances light control architecture and light-boosting algorithms to achieve brightness three times higher than conventional OLED models”.
The new G6 comes with a 165Hz gaming mode for PC gamers, and you’ll be able to pick the TV up in 48, 55, 65, 77, 83, and 97-inches. However, LG says that not all models will feature the same brightness levels. Some models, like the 48 and 97-inch, will be less bright than the 65 and 77-inch.
The iconic Magic Remote will no longer have an input button. Instead, you’ll now get a Home Hub button that will open up a dashboard on the TV with access to inputs and other smart home features. The Magic Remote is also being rebranded as the “AI Remote”.
LG is pushing AI hard this year across its TV lineup. Maybe a little bit too much. The range will come with the usual AI Picture and Sound Pro modes, but the new “LG AI” suite comes with an LLM chatbot and Microsoft Copilot integration. LG wants users to use this chatbot to search the internet, ask questions, control their home appliances, and more.
The LG AI system will also offer various ways to “improve” your picture settings and sound options by— you guessed it— using AI to tailor the viewing experience.
Whether or not any of these AI features will be helpful is still unclear. Whether customers actually want them is a whole other question. The fact that there’s no longer a dedicated input button on the remote is already a sign that LG doesn’t really care what customers want.
Regardless, LG is launching the M5, G6, C5, and B5 TVs in the month ahead. We’ll have a deeper look at these models ahead of the rollout.
