Lies of P Xbox Game Pass Day One Pinocchio

Lies of P Coming Day One to Xbox Game Pass in 2023

The Pinocchio-inspired Souls-like Lies of P, from developers Neowiz Games and Round 8 Studio, is officially coming day one to Xbox Game Pass. The game received a new trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live last night with the announcement, including a release window of 2023 for consoles and PC.

Putting a darker spin on the classic tale of Pinocchio, Lies of P seemingly blends elements of Bloodborne, NieR: Automata and BioShock into one steampunk-esque package. While a concrete release date wasn’t given, it’s good to know that it will be dropping sometime in 2023 and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get access to the game on day one.

The official description of Lies of P provided by Steam reads:

“You wake up at an abandoned train station in Krat, a city overwhelmed by madness and bloodlust. In front of you lies a single note that reads:

“Find Mr. Geppetto. He’s here in the city.”

Play as Pinocchio, a puppet mechanoid, and fight through everything in your path to find this mystery person. But don’t expect any help along the way and don’t make the mistake of trusting anyone. You must always lie to others if you hope to become human.

Inspired by the familiar story of Pinocchio, Lies of P is an action souls-like game set in a cruel, dark Belle Époque world. All of humanity is lost in a once beautiful city that has now become a living hell filled with unspeakable horrors. Lies of P offers an elegant world filled with tension, a deep combat system and a gripping story. Guide Pinocchio and experience his unrelenting journey to become human.”

Lies of P won the award for Best PlayStation Game at Gamescom as it was available on the event’s show floor. It releases in 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the latest trailer below.
