Lies of P, the upcoming Bloodborne-inspired action-RPG that puts a spin on the story of Pinocchio, is close to wrapping its development. Game director Choi Ji-Won revealed that the anticipated game is now in the final stages of polishing and refining, coming a long way since he revealed that about 70% of the game was done back in August. Lies of P still doesn’t have a release date but it’s expected to arrive sometime in 2023.
Speaking to 4Gamer, Ji-Won confirmed that Lies of P was entering its final stages of development. For the most part, all that’s left is polishing, fixing bugs and refining the game before its release next year.

Ji-Won’s update on Lies of P‘s development reads:
“We announced in August that the game was 70% complete, but now it’s in a much more advanced state. Most of the development has been completed and the rest is in the assembly stage, we are fixing bugs, refining and putting the finishing touches.”
Lies of P made a big splash at Gamescom in August when it became one of the most awarded games of the show. Fans got a chance to play a section of the game on the show floor, with many initial previews coming back very positive. While some noted that it’s heavily inspired by games like Bloodborne or any of From Software’s Souls games, it manages to stand out by putting its own unique spin on the familiar fable of Pinocchio.
Neowiz Games and Round 8 Studio confirmed back in October that Lies of P will take around 30 hours to beat. This makes sense as the game promises to be a lengthy and deep RPG with a lot more to it than what we’ve seen in gameplay and trailers so far.
Lies of P releases in 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will also launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.
