Loki TV Show is a “New Departure” According to Tom Hiddleston

We know that a Loki TV show is in the works for the Disney+ streaming service and that these Marvel shows will directly affect the Marvel Cinematic Universe in some way. That’s pretty much all that has been confirmed about the Loki TV show so far, and the fact that it will star Tom Hiddleston, who portrays the role of the God of Mischief in the MCU.

In Avengers: Infinity War we saw Loki die at the hands of Thanos, but the awesome character still made an appearance in Avengers: Endgame thanks to time travel and even go away. This opens up a lot of possibilities for the Loki TV show, with a time travel or even multiverse direction not being impossible.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, actor Tom Hiddleston mentioned an interesting bit of information, noting that:

This new departure could mean that Loki becomes a true hero or many other things. My personal opinion here is that this “new departure” for the Loki TV show could see the God of Mischief in a pre-Infinity War era, or even pre-Ragnarok and dive deep into why Loki is the way he is.

Without being able to share more details about the Loki TV show, Tom Hiddleston did talk about how it is to play the God of Mischief in the MCU:

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#33ffec” class=”” size=”22″]It is a constant source of surprise and delight that these films have connected with people. I knew he was a complex figure. Intelligent yet vulnerable. Angry and lost and broken and witty. I thought it was an amazing opportunity and it’s grown into this network of movies. I could never have expected it. I feel very fortunate that this character has connected with people.[/perfectpullquote]

I, for one, am extremely excited for the Marvel shows on Disney+ to kick off and the Loki TV show is definitely at the top of that list.
