Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, a full remake of the cult classic action game Lollipop Chainsaw, has received its first extensive gameplay footage. The remake is being developed by Dragami Games which consists of plenty of developers that worked on the original game. We now have some concrete gameplay to digest and fans of the game should be pleased to know that it looks great.
The extensive gameplay was posted on Dragami Games’ official YouTube channel, featuring nearly 20 minutes of gameplay played by the game’s ambassador and cosplayer, PeachyMilky. The gameplay mostly consists of the prologue of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP which faithfully remakes the opening chapter of the original title, now with considerably better visuals, textures and improved frame rates. The combat is also notably faster.
The official description for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP reads:
“Lollipop Chainsaw, which sold 1.24 million copies worldwide, is back with the latest graphics! The cheerleader Juliet, born into a family of zombie hunters, uses her trusty chainsaw to rip and tear through the undead! But now that RePOP adds speedier chainsaw action and auto-fire for her chainsaw blaster, the action never slows down till the very end! And it’s not just the gameplay that’s been improved, the visuals and soundtrack have been powered up too! Don’t miss out on this unparalleled zombie hunting adventure!”
Earlier this month, Dragami Games moved RePOP‘s release date up by a couple of weeks. It was originally announced to launch on 25 September this year but players will be able to get their hands on the remake as soon as 12 September now thanks to the date shift. Unfortunately, there aren’t any local pricing details on the remake so you’ll have to wait a little longer while we wait for confirmation.
