Lollipop Chainsaw RePop Release Date Moved Up

Lollipop Chainsaw RePop Moves Up Release Date

Lollipop Chainsaw RePop, a full remake of the original Lollipop Chainsaw game, has moved up its release date by two weeks. While it was originally slated to release on 25 September, developer Dragami Games announced that it has now been moved up to 12 September 2024, affecting all platforms including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.

As reported by Gematsu, Lollipop Chainsaw RePop will now launch two weeks earlier than expected. There was no reason provided for this shift in dates, though Dragami Games assures players that everything is still on track and this date will likely stick.

Dragami Games, which consists of many developers who worked on the original title, provided a mission statement explaining how it plans to revitalise Lollipop Chainsaw for modern hardware:

“Various factors resulted in things making it so that fans can no longer easily play Lollipop Chainsaw, and it has been some time since players have not been able to access the game on current consoles. We, the original development staff on Lollipop Chainsaw, think of the game as very precious to us, and did not want to leave it in limbo, where players who want to play it cannot. As such, we purchased the Lollipop Chainsaw intellectual property from Kadokawa Games, and decided to develop a remake.”

Dragami Games continued:

“One thing that we have to tell fans of the original game is that even though the original staff are working on the remake, there will be elements that are different from the original. Additionally, since we have access to consoles with higher specifications, we will be taking a more realistic approach to the graphics this time. In any case, our goal is to make it easier for gamers who want to play Lollipop Chainsaw to do so.”

Lollipop Chainsaw RePop now launches on 12 September 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
