Hexworks has dated Lords of The Fallen to launch on the previously-leaked release date of 13 October. The release date confirmation arrived with the brand-new gameplay trailer that includes a look at the story, some combat, exploration and more.
The development team at Hexworks isn’t calling Lords of The Fallen a sequel to the original 2014 game. Instead, it claims the title is a “spiritual successor” to the first game. The trailer also signalled the pre-orders for Lords of the Fallen going live across PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
The trailer is backed by Iron Maiden’s ‘Fear of the Dark’ and spans multiple shots. It starts out with a story introduction giving us some backstory to the world and the so-called “gloom” taking over the land. The trailer then shows off boss fights, combat, loads of beautiful environments to explore and even some co-op gameplay.
As for the Lords of the Fallen editions, there are three different versions you can pre-order. The Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition and a Collector’s Edition. The Deluxe Edition also comes in both a digital and physical version.
Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition owners will gain access to the Dark Crusader starting class. There’s also a soundtrack and the Collector’s Edition includes a 10-inch Crusader figurine, steelbook and more.
At the moment it seems that Standard Edition owners won’t gain access to the Dark Crusader starting class. It also isn’t clear yet whether or not players can purchase this starting class separately if they decide to go with the Standard Edition.
