MacBook Pro M4

MacBook Pro Receive The M4 Pro and M4 Max Treatment

Apple has announced likely its last new products for 2024 in the form of the new MacBook Pro lineup. This week we have already seen the new iMac and Mac Mini hardware. Both products now pack the M4 chip so it was a no-brainer that Apple would debut the MacBook Pro M4 devices.

From a design point of view, the new M4 MacBook Pro doesn’t have any physical change. The notebooks still come in 14-inch and 16-inch and in Silver and Space Black. Even the marketing for the new MacBook Pro range includes the same wallpaper used in last year’s M3 model. So don’t expect much here apart from the performance jump.

With that being said, Apple has increased the base RAM across all models from 18 GB to 24 GB. The 14-inch MacBook Pro is also getting an additional Thunderbolt 4 port on the right-hand side. In addition, the range will also ship with Thunderbolt 5 ports and 12MP webcams. Apple is also offering a nano-texture display option to reduce screen glare and reflections.

From a performance side, Apple says the M4 has the world’s fastest CPU core. It also promises faster GPU performance with 2x the speed compared to M3. Of course, the M4 MacBook Pro comes with Apple Intelligence from day one which is going to be a norm for the company going forward.

These notebooks will cost you a heavy penny. The 14-inch M4 Pro starts at $1,999 and the 16-inch M4 Pro at $2,499. They also come in M4 Max variants with build-to-order options that include larger SSDs and more RAM. They are expected to launch on 8 November in the US.

We are waiting on local pricing and release date information. If you want to watch Apple talk about technical stuff for 18 minutes, you can watch the reveal showcase below. Also, be sure to catch up on the iMac announcement here and Mac Mini news here.
