Marvel 1943 Rise of Hydra Publisher Plaion

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Release Window Possibly Revealed by Actor

The release window for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, the upcoming superhero game from Uncharted veteran Amy Hennig and Skydance New Media, has possibly been revealed by one of the game’s voice actors. Fans won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on the game as actor Khary Payton, who plays Black Panther, let slip that the studio is aiming for a Christmas 2025 or holiday release.

Speaking with The Direct at MultiCon in Los Angeles recently, Black Panther voice actor Khary Payton revealed a possible release window for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. “We’re still working. We’re planning on 2025,” said Payton. “We’re thinking like a Christmas situation. But I’m so excited.”

Christmas 2025 puts Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra within the holiday window of release, which makes sense as games tend to capitalise on stronger sales during the festive season. It will also release around the same time that fans are expecting a trailer or major update on Avengers: Doomsday, the next big Avengers event movie in the MCU, which will release in May 2026.

However, Skydance New Media and publisher Plaion, which officially signed on as the game’s publisher in July 2024, have been very tight-lipped about the game for months. It’s possible we’ll see Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra have more of a presence during the summer gaming events which typically include the Xbox Games Showcase and Summer Game Fest. There’s also a chance that the game will be shown in more detail during a PlayStation State of Play event too.

In Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, players will be able to take control of four key characters: Captain America, Black Panther, Howling Commandos member Gabriel Jones and Nanali, the leader of the Wakandan Spy Network. The game is being written and directed by Amy Hennig, who previously worked on the first three Uncharted games before leaving Naughty Dog.
