While the events of Avengers: Endgame is still fresh in our minds and Spider-Man: Far From Home set up the future of the MCU heading into phase 4, we now look towards Black Widow, the first MCU Phase 4 film from Marvel. The first Black Widow teaser trailer has been unleashed and you can view it at the bottom of this article.

In Avengers: Endgame (sorry if you haven’t watched it yet but really!), Natasha Romanoff (portrayed by Scarlett Johansson), aka Black Widow, sacrifices herself for so the Avengers can get their hands on the Soul Stone. Therefore, the Black Widow film is an origin story set in the past taking place in Budapest. If Budapest sends nerd chills running down your spine, we won’t blame you, as Black Widow and Hawkeye have, on numerous occasions, mentioned Bucharest in MCU films, including Endgame.
We will finally get to see what happened in Budapest and dive into Natasha Romanoff’s past in her first (and probably last considering the events of Endgame) solo outing in the MCU. However, she isn’t alone as she is joined by Yelena Belova (portrayed by Florence Pugh) who she calls her sister in the Black Widow teaser trailer. In the comics, Yelena Belova became the second Black Widow, so in this film, Marvel might be setting up a new character for the MCU Phase 4 moving forward without Scarlett Johansson.
We also get glimpses of a masked villain as well as David Harbour as the Red Guardian from the trailer. There is probably a good chance that we will see Hawkeye make an appearance in the film as well since he was clearly involved in the events in Budapest.
The film is set to hit cinemas on 1 May 2020.
