Marvel Rivals Confirmed For PS5, Xbox Series X/S – Beta Coming in July

NetEase Games and Marvel Games have confirmed that its upcoming PvP arena shooter is coming to both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S alongside its PC launch. Up to now, Marvel Rivals was only confirmed for PC. However, during the PlayStation State of Play, Sony showcased PS5 gameplay and NetEase has now confirmed an Xbox launch too.

Marvel Rivals is also getting a closed beta which will kick off in July. NetEase says this beta will be a large-scale test across all platforms. Users in North America, Europe and other regions are urged to sign up to participate in the beta.

At the moment, no details on how to sign up have been released. NetEase says more information will be announced closer to the test. In addition, the studio confirmed that PlayStation owners who participate in the test will unlock a special Scarlet Spider cosmetic outfit for when the game is officially launched.

Ethan Wang, Senior Vice President, NetEase says

“With the confirmation of console platforms, NetEase Games is thrilled at the prospects to greatly expand the audience for Marvel Rivals. As we move closer to our closed beta phase, we look forward to direct community feedback and engaging with our players to create the best possible Super Hero experience.”

Marvel Rivals features a storyline crafted by the NetEase writing team in collaboration with Marvel Games, where the merciless clash between the tyrannical dictator Doctor Doom and his future counterpart from the year 2099 has forced countless universes to collide in the Timestream Entanglement, creating new worlds and conflicts still to be discovered. Now, Super Heroes and Super Villains from across the Multiverse must fight together and against one another as disparate groups seek to defeat both Dooms before one achieves domination of these realities. Familiar faces become newfound foes while former enemies become the greatest of allies in Marvel Rivals!
