The upcoming Marvel’s Avengers video game will feature an explosive campaign that looks like it has been plucked right out of a flashy movie series. Along with a blockbuster campaign, you will be able to play through it with a range of Avengers characters including the awesome Ms Marvel which was just revealed as a playable character. But how long will the game last?

According to an interview with ComicBook.com, Crystal Dynamics Senior Brand Director Rich Briggs states that the campaign will last you 10 to 12 hours depending on the choices you make and the characters you pick. This sort of story length falls in line with those who have played the developer’s last game, Shadow of the Tomb Raider which featured the same game length.
Of course, you can extend this by doing “everything there is, and do all the side missions and everything else.” According to the interview, you are looking at 30 plus hours if you do everything in the game and that does not take into account the extended game plan and post-launch content roadmap.
According to Crystal Dynamics, the will continue to roll out content for Marvel’s Avengers for years after release including new campaign chapters and playable heroes.
Our only concern would be the number of in-game purchases the game will include. We reported a while back that it will ship with specific hero costumes only available through in-game purchases which are already a bad sign.
Marvel’s Avengers combines the original story with a single-player and co-operative experience as you assemble into teams of four and master your heroes, customize them and save the world from deadly threats.
