Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have revealed our first look at Spider-Man in Marvel’s Avengers, who will be swinging into the live-service game on 30 November. The character was originally announced to arrive as DLC over a year ago, but it looks like PS4 and PS5 players will finally get the web-slinger as an exclusive hero later this month.
Square Enix has revealed the official trailer for the Spider-Man content. Check it out below
Marvel’s Avengers revealed a new image showing Spider-Man swinging alongside the Avengers, confirming a release date of 30 November exclusively to PS4 and PS5 users only. Not only will Spider-Man be available as a hero, but he’ll also come with his own set of missions and a specific story line.
As many may have already guessed, the character model is new as opposed to the same one used in Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. Unsurprisingly, Spider-Man is a PlayStation exclusive hero and doesn’t seem like he’ll be heading to Xbox or PC anytime soon. Check out the full image spread below:
Crystal Dynamics confirmed that a trailer will arrive later today courtesy of IGN, which will likely showcase Spider-Man’s various abilities, skills and missions. It will be interesting to see how this beloved Marvel superhero synergizes with the rest of the roster as his fighting style is quite different from any other character in the game.
Spider-Man was one of the first superheroes originally teased to arrive as free DLC in Marvel’s Avengers, so fans have been eagerly anticipating the character’s arrival in the game for quite a while now. The game was added to Xbox Game Pass last month (perhaps in an effort to boost players), though Spider-Man’s exclusivity to PS4 and PS5 won’t be doing other platforms any favours. Nonetheless, he’s finally here and that should be enough to at least pique the curiosity of some gamers.
Other than Spider-Man, Marvel’s Avengers currently features other DLC superheroes including Black Panther, Hawkeye and Kate Bishop.
