Thor Love And Thunder Jane Foster Mighty Marvel's Avengers

Marvel’s Avengers Will Add Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor

Developer Crystal Dynamics has revealed that they will add Jane Foster: The Mighty Thor to Marvel’s Avengers as a playable hero in Update 2.5. This comes in light of the character also briefly appearing in the first trailer for the upcoming MCU film Thor: Love And Thunder, which features actress Natalie Portman reprising her role as Jane.

In a recent blog post, Crystal Dynamics revealed that Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor will arrive in Marvel’s Avengers in an upcoming update, though no specific date was given. The character will also have her own unique abilities and moves.

Square Enix provided a description of the hero in a development update:

“Our Hero designs are driven first and foremost by their core comic book identities, so, as a fellow wielder of Mjolnir, her suite of abilities will have a lot in common with the Odinson’s, however she will also have elements that are distinctly Jane.”

Square Enix plans to reveal more about The Mighty Thor following Update 2.4, which arrives this May. It’s unclear when the hero will actually arrive in the game, though will join the roster sometime during Update 2.5.

Marvel’s Avengers originally released in late 2020 to a mostly divisive reception from fans and critics. While many enjoyed the single-player campaign, the game was also criticised for its live service model and grindy nature. Crystal Dynamics originally promised that new heroes would arrive in subsequent updates, though beyond Black Panther, Kate Bishop, Hawkeye and Spider-Man, more are expected to be added as time goes on.

Meanwhile, Portman will return to play Jane Foster in the upcoming MCU film Thor: Love And Thunder, reuniting with Chris Hemsworth. She previously bowed out of appearing in Thor: Ragnarok, which was also directed by Love And Thunder‘s Taika Waititi.

Marvel’s Avengers is currently available for PS4, Xbox One and PC with free upgrades to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
