2K Games and Firaxis Games have announced a new video series based on the upcoming Marvel’s Midnight Suns game. The series will be released over the course of the upcoming weeks and aims to provide new information on the game and its gameplay, characters and how they fight. The first video focuses on Captain America, AKA Steve Rogers and the First Avenger.

Firaxis says that Captain America is mostly a defensive character. However, he is also capable of dealing immense damage when he needs to by using his shield. Steve can also initiate an ability called “Block” (go figure) and build up a charge the more he blocks before unleashing a more powerful move.

Captain America also act as a tank to a certain degree. He can use his “Taunt” ability to protect his allies from damage by taking the aggro away from his teammates. When enemies get too close, Steve’s shield can then be used to knock them back with a simple attack called Knockback. This attack can then be charged with heroism for a more powerful knockback sending enemies even further back.

As you know, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is based on cards that the player can use in combat. Each card requires a set heroism charge depending on how powerful the card is. Captain America’s most expensive card is called Shield Charge which turns his Block (the one that charges) into pure damage. It attacks enemies in a line pattern.

There’s quite a lot going on in the video. It goes through the friendship levels between Captain America and the other characters and how this plays into the game’s combat.
