Insomniac Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment have released an exciting launch trailer for its highly anticipated upcoming superhero game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, ahead of its release later this week. The trailer also arrives a few hours before the review embargo lifts for the PS5 title, which should give fans a general consensus of the game before they decide to purchase it.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a sequel to 2018’s acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man and 2020’s Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. This will be the first time that both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will appear in the series together as interchangeable playable characters. Peter also dons a new symbiote suit that gifts him a number of awesome new abilities but naturally, the lethal protector Venom has arrived on the scene and proves to be a bigger emerging threat.
The official description for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 provided by PlayStation in the launch trailer reads:
“Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, return for an exciting new adventure in the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise for the PS5 console. Nine months after the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, we find Miles still enlisting Peter’s help, but when the mysterious symbiote appears, Peter and Miles’ relationships are put to the test,” says the description. “Peter begins to change as he gains symbiote powers, and Miles, Mary Jane, Harry, and the rest of the friend group must help Peter while also facing the impending threats from a cast of new villains like Kraven, Lizard, Sandman, and Venom!”
With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 only a few days away from launch, be aware of potential spoilers that have already hit the internet. According to a report from last week, the full game has surfaced online which will make way for plenty of spoilers on social media so browse carefully or mute terms.
Sony also revealed a PS5 bundle for the game, though it appears to simply be a standard PS5 console with a digital code attached.
