Insomniac Games has announced that its anticipated upcoming open-world superhero game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, has officially gone gold ahead of its launch next month. The game’s voice actors released a video celebrating the announcement and shared their excitement for the sequel.
The video, which was posted to Insomniac’s social media accounts, features voice actors such as Laura Bailey, Tony Todd, Nadji Peter and Yuri Lowenthal – who play Mary Jane Watson, Venom, Miles Morales and Peter Parker respectively – sharing a message with fans about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 going gold. This means that the bulk of the game’s development is complete and the final version is ready to be shipped out.
Insomniac Games posted its own message alongside the gold announcement, saying:

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 continues the story of both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales as the web-slinging duo continues to protect New York from imminent threats. This time, the threats come in the form of a number of famous Spider-Man villains including Lizard, Kraven the Hunter and Venom, who will be voiced by Candyman actor Tony Todd. Fans also think Mysterio might be involved.
In related news, Insomniac recently shared the PS5 enhancement and graphics features for the game. Players can also expect to unlock 65 unique suits in the sequel, each drawing from various Spider-Man-related comics, games and movies. if you’re looking to pick up the collector’s edition, it includes a cheeky 19-inches of Venom. The statue, we mean.
