Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Cuban Flag Miles Morales House

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Mistakenly Features Cuban Flag in Miles’ House

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has one small factual error that’s making the rounds online. As spotted by some fans, a Cuban flag can be seen in the home of Miles Morales – the character and his family are actually Puerto Rican, meaning the incorrect flag is being displayed. Thankfully, Insomniac Games says it’s currently looking into the error and will correct it in a future patch.

To be fair, the flags of Puerto Rico and Cuba are quite similar in design. The Cuban flag features blue stripes with a red triangle and white star, while the Puerto Rican flag features the exact same layout, only the colours are swapped; the stripes are red and the triangle is blue with a white star. Chalking it up to human error and an honest mistake, Insomniac’s James Stevenson responded and stated that this will be corrected in an update soon.

The original Twitter user who noticed the error also stated, “the Puerto Rican flags on the outside of his apartment on the fire escape have ALSO been replaced by Cuban flags”, so the error isn’t just confined to the interior of Miles’ home. The standalone Miles Morales game featured accurate Puerto Rican flags.

Fans pointed out that the team for the suit designs in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 clearly weren’t responsible for the interior designs of Miles’ house, as one of his suits actually features the correct Puerto Rican colours. It only makes the mistake a bit more jarring though it won’t stick around for much longer.

In other news, Sony recently revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is now the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game of all time, selling an impressive 2.5 million copies in just 24 hours. It also seemingly surpasses the previous record held by God of War Ragnarok. Catch up on the story of the first two games before jumping into the sequel.
