Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 developer Insomniac Games has provided an update on the anticipated sequel, stating that it’s working hard to make sure “that this is the best game we’ve ever made.” The studio was responsible for developing the previous Marvel’s Spider-Man game as well as its standalone expanded story, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It seems like Insomniac Games is trying to raise the bar again and deliver something really special with the sequel.
Details surrounding Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are still murky at best. We’ve gotten smaller updates from voice actors and some release window confirmations before but fans have yet to actually see the game in action. That might all change soon as the game is scheduled to launch in fall 2023 and is likely to make an appearance at the upcoming rumoured PlayStation showcase reportedly happening in late May.

In a recent livestream, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 narrative director Jon Paquette talked a bit about the game but reiterated that he can’t spill any big information yet. However, he’s very excited about what’s to come, stating:
“Boy am I excited about Spider-Man 2. There’s obviously not much I can say, but boy, are we really workin’ hard to try and make sure that this is the best game we’ve ever made and we can’t wait to share it with y’all.”
Needless to say, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is probably the most anticipated PS5 release of the year. The first game was a fantastic foundation for Insomniac Games to build on and we can’t to see where the studio is taking the series next. The reveal trailer for the game hinted at Peter Parker and Miles Morales clashing with the symbiote and lethal protector Venom, who will be voiced by Candyman actor Tony Todd.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently in development exclusively for PS5.
