Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to Launch in Fall 2023 – Report

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is reportedly set to launch in fall 2023, according to one of the writers working with the development team at Insomniac Games. The anticipated superhero sequel recently appeared on the PlayStation Store, leading many to believe that Sony would make a new announcement or deliver a new trailer. However, it seems like we may now know the release window thanks to this slip-up.

According to writer Jamie Mayer, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will release in fall 2023. This was listed on his personal website before Twitter account SpiderMan3news caught wind of the leak (reported by Insider Gaming). Once it gained traction online, Mayer quickly updated the listing to just say “2023” instead of “fall 2023.”

The fact that Mayer was quick to remove “fall 2023” from his bio suggests that there must be some truth to these claims, especially since it seems like a honest mistake. Fall 2023 might be the time frame set internally by the studio and it makes sense that Mayer would be aware of this information.

However, fall 2023 has always been a speculated release window for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Apart from the short reveal trailer, we haven’t seen anything else about the game. Sony’s marketing usually ramps up months before a game’s launch and given the very busy schedule in the first half of 2023, it leaves the second half of the year open to a big release like this.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was first revealed in 2021 as the sequel to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man. This time, we’re following the adventures of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they take on Venom. In addition to the return of Spider-Man, Insomniac Games is also working on another Marvel property in Marvel’s Wolverine, which was also listed on Mayer’s website but doesn’t have a release date yet.

As with all reports, take this with a pinch of salt for now. However, it seems like a pretty believable lead.
