Marvel’s Spider-Man is, without a doubt, one of the best games this year. Insomniac did Spidey justice, delivering a spectacular superhero game as it felt like watching a Marvel film all while doing everything a spider can. The game is already quite huge and on 23 October, it will get a substantial DLC. Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist is the first of three DLCs in “The City that Never Sleeps” and will sport a whole new interconnected story.

So what new adventures await for Spidey in the game’s first DLC? Well, we all know that Black Cat, aka Felicia Hardy, will play a role. Throughout the main game, we saw her leave multiple little kittens that you needed to spot. The banter between Spidey and Black Cat will no doubt continue, but what else can we expect? In a new PlayStation Blog post, Insomniac revealed a lot more information about Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist.

As you play Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist, you’ll encounter the beginning of a new, interconnected story taking place over the three chapters of Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps. A robbery at an art museum entangles Spider-Man and MJ with an old flame from Peter Parker’s past, Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat. Beyond new story missions, there’s a whole new faction of enemies, new crimes, new challenges, new trophies, and of course, three brand new suits.

The city already felt alive when I played the game shortly after release, but with a whole new faction of enemies, there should be just so much to do for both newcomers and those who have already got their Platinum Trophy. The crimes did start to feel a bit repetitive after a while, so new crimes, whatever they may be, sounds refreshing. Not to mention new challenges (please no more chasing pigeons) and a new story to play through, the DLC sounds meaty.

There is no official word on the DLC length. However, if you take the new types of content into account my guess is we will get at least 8 hours out of this one if the player does everything. It could be even more and if you are like me who can just swing around New York for hours on end, get ready for more than just an overnight stay.

One of my favourite parts about the game was collecting new suits for Spidey with their varied abilities. Insomniac has also revealed three new suits you can get in the DLC, which you can view below.

The Heist Suits

Here’s a first look at the three new suits. One we’d love to highlight is the Resilient Suit, by famed Marvel illustrator Gabriele Dell’Otto. We loved bringing original suits to the game, starting with our Advanced Suit, and continuing with Adi Granov’s Velocity Suit, and this is another great one. Additionally we have two more suits that fans of the comics will recognize, Spider-Man’s suit from Scarlet Spider II, and the Spider-UK suit from the Spider-Verse.

So what will this DLC set you back? Well, the full The City That Never Sleeps package (with 3 DLC) will cost you R319 on the PlayStation StoreInsomniac did mention that The Heist and the other two DLC will be available individually on the PlayStation Store for $9.99. However, the local store doesn’t have the listing just yet.

Will you be playing Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist and what do you think about the DLC contents as announced by Insomniac? Let us know in the comment section below.
