It was recently revealed that for the first time ever, the entire Halo Master Chief Collection will be coming to PC. This marks a big milestone for the franchise, with 2004’s Halo 2 being the last title from the franchise to be available on PC. Now, it seems Halo fans won’t have to wait long to enjoy the entire Master Chief Collection, as it will reportedly all be available by the end of 2019.
The Halo Master Chief Collection includes Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, the Halo 3: ODST Campaign and Halo 4. The PC version of the Halo Master Chief Collection will be released in stages, with each game releasing chronologically (as listed above). Splash Damage has also revealed that all the games in the new collection of Halo will be released “throughout the year“, which means the entire collection will become available by the end of 2019.
The developer, 343 Industries responded on Reddit by saying
As we’ve said, “they’re ready when they’re ready” but happy to hear Splash Damage is as eager as we are to get these into your hands! But he also allowed that things could possibly – possibly – happen fairly quickly.
The studio went on to confirm though that Halo: Reach will be the first title to be released as part of the Master Chief Collection. The studio also warned that bad attitudes from the gaming community might delay the release of the games.
I think it’s safe to say that flighting will be kicking off sooner than people probably expect. Remember, the outcomes of public flighting will play a large part in driving the retail release. If things are going great, it’ll be swift. If we encounter unforeseen issues then we’ll have to spend more time.
Are you excited about the new collection of Halo games coming out?
