MCU’s Spider-Man 4 Already Has a Story Says Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige says the team already has a story for Spider-Man 4 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker actor Tom Holland said that he treated the third movie as “the end of a franchise”, but it looks like ideas are already being fleshed out at Marvel to continue the MCU storyline.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Feige spoke about future plans for the MCU, specifically mentioning Spider-Man 4. “All I will say is that we have the story,” said Feige. “We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home left off with Peter choosing to not reveal his identity to best friends MJ and Ned after a memory-wiping spell by Doctor Strange. Instead, he dons a new suit and continues being Spider-Man. Most fans saw this as a touching send-off for the superhero, but there’s clearly more stories to be told for the character – especially with the MCU rolling into its new phases and the overarching threat of Kang still on the horizon.

Marvel Studios seems to think so as the writers are already penning a script for Spider-Man 4, though details are scarce and will probably remain so up until the movie’s official announcement. Holland stated in 2021 that he’d like to pass the baton to another Spider-Man character like Miles Morales. However, the deal was quickly renewed for Holland to appear in three more Spider-Man movies in the MCU a few weeks later.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that we won’t see Miles Morales potentially appear in the next Spider-Man movie, though. Thanks to Sony’s animated Spider-Verse movies and the success of the PlayStation game Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the character is already quite popular in the mainstream eye so the transition might be an easy one.
