MDL Chengdu Major – What You Need to Know

The first major of the Dota Pro Circuit is about to start, with the group stages for the MDL Chengdu Major starting tomorrow, 16 November 2019. It is a tournament that no Dota 2 esports fan should miss out on, featuring some top teams from around the globe fighting for their share of the $1 million prize pool and a whopping 15,000 DPC points.

First off, the MDL Chengdu Major will take place in Chengdu, China hosted by Mars Media. It features 16 teams, fifteen of which went through the regional qualifiers, as well as Invictus Gaming who claimed a spot by winning the first Minor of the Dota Pro Circuit season, the Summit 11.

The group stage for the tournament begins tomorrow, 16 November at 04:00 SAST. The group stage will be played in a GSL style format and the top two teams from each group will move on to the upper bracket of the playoffs, while the bottom two will be thrown into the lower bracket.

The group stage will complete on 17 November and on 18 November, the playoffs will begin. We will, of course, be covering the results of the group stages and discussing the tournament right here at GLITCHED, including more detailed coverage of the playoffs next week.
