The first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has arrived and we can finally meet Shadow the Hedgehog. The trailer has been anticipated given that Shadow is voiced by Keanu Reeves. To make things even better, Keanu hasn’t changed this voice to fit Shadow, he simply sounds exactly like Keanu.
The trailer tells us a few things. Dr. Robotnik, played by Jim Carrey is back, looking quite old and crazy. There are also two Robotnik in the film. It also reveals that Shadow is the toughest enemy Sonic will face. So tough that Sonic is to call for help to take the hedgehog down.
We know Shadow would play a major role in the third film. The character was teased at the end of Sonic 2. He was also touched on in the Knuckles TV series.
The trailer also has a few easter eggs if you watch carefully. The Chao make their debut. These mystical fairy-like creatures are from the video game series and were made popular in Sonic Adventures. We don’t know what role they will play in the film. The trailer also reveals Maria who Shadow seemingly befriended during his time as a lab experiment.
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is expected to launch in cinemas this December. We don’t have an exact date yet so stay tuned for local ticket availability.
