Metal Gear Solid 4 Master Collection Vol. 2 Konami

Metal Gear Solid 4 is Part of Master Collection Vol. 2 – Report

Konami recently announced the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, a collection of the first three Metal Gear Solid games plus the original classic Metal Gear titles in one great bundle. Vol. 1 will be coming to consoles and PC later this year, though there has been some speculation online about when we can expect Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to finally appear on modern hardware. A new report suggests that the fourth installment is planned for Vol. 2.

As spotted by Reddit user aadipie, the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection pre-order page contains a screenshot of Metal Gear Solid 4 in the manual for the first game, suggesting that Konami has plans to include it in Vol. 2. The Redditor also refers to a recent Twitter post which inspects the Master Collection‘s website, noticing placeholders for Metal Gear Solid 4, Peace Walker and The Phantom Pain as well.

It’s possible that all three of those aforementioned titles will form part of the Master Collection‘s second volume, which makes sense considering Vol. 1 already delivers the original three games. Most fans believe it’s a no-brainer that we’ll finally get the fourth game in Vol. 2. It’s been a long time coming too as the only way to play Guns of the Patriots today is through a PS3 copy. The game never officially received a port or remaster for current-gen consoles.

In addition to the Master Collection, Konami also revealed Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 that’s understood to be in development at Virtuos and Konami’s internal team. The remake was officially revealed during the PlayStation Showcase which took place in May, though no release date or gameplay was attached to the CGI trailer.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 launches on 24 October 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch. Check out the latest trailer below from the recent Nintendo Direct:
