David Hayter, the original voice actor for Solid Snake, has teased the possible inclusion of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots in Konami’s Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2. The first volume packaged the first three MGS titles alongside the original Metal Gear games in a remastered package. A second volume has yet to be announced but it’s likely that we’ll see the remaining entries in the franchise as part of the next bundle.
David Hayter recently posted a photo on Twitter/X of him posing with a statue of Old Snake (featured in Metal Gear Solid 4) with the caption “had a pretty cool meeting the other day…” Fans believe that Hayter might’ve been discussing the fourth MGS game potentially appearing in Master Collection Vol. 2, hence the statue.

If Guns of the Patriots does appear in Master Collection Vol. 2, it will be notable because the only way to actually play the game is on PS3. No remasters of the fourth entry have been released since then, so it will be great for fans and newcomers to the series to experience another phenomenal MGS game which will be available to a wider audience.

A report from back in June claimed that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be part of the second volume, though it’s already an educated guess that Konami would want to round off and remaster the later entries too.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 launched last month to mostly positive reviews, scoring an average of 75 on OpenCritic. However, the PC and Nintendo Switch versions of the bundle were heavily criticised for featuring lower resolutions than advertised and some technical issues. Digital Foundry also reported that the image quality for the first MGS game in the package was worse than the PS3 version.
As with all rumours and reports, take this with a grain of salt for now until we get confirmation from Konami.
