Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Gets First in-Engine Look

Just as the world is experiencing the latest Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1, Konami has revealed the first in-engine footage for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The game was originally revealed as a CG trailer but the new footage is in-engine meaning the game will look something sorta like it.

The video features what you would expect from a Metal Gear Solid game – lots of sneaking around and climbing on ledges. The difference between all other Metal Gear Solid games and this new version is that it looks superb. Konami is building the title in Unreal Engine 5 and ditching Fox Engine which was previously used for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Of course, Hideo Kojima isn’t involved in this project. This is a no-brainer considering the fallout he had with Konami all those years back. However, the developer is working on Death Stranding 2 instead.

For those who don’t know, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3. Was recently renamed as Delta. It is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Although it doesn’t have a release date.

Given that this first glimpse was in-engine footage, it might be a while before we actually get our hands on the game.
