The release date for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater from Hideo Kojima, has leaked via the PlayStation Store. While publisher Konami has yet to announce a date for the anticipated remake, there’s been some speculation that it could release in 2025. According to a potential slip-up on the PS Store, it seems like we finally have an answer.
Users on ResetEra spotted that a release date of 28 August 2025 had been seen on the PS Store page for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater – specifically at the end of a leaked trailer for the game. As far as we can tell, PlayStation hasn’t made an effort to remove the trailer but Konami hasn’t shared the news on its website or YouTube channel yet. It’s also been shared across multiple media sites already. We’ve linked the release date trailer from GameSpot below, just in case it’s pulled from the PS Store.
Nostalgic fans will also be glad to know that the fan-favourite Snake vs. Monkey mode will also make a return, according to the leaked trailer – a PS2-exclusive mode from the original game that pitted Snake against the monkeys from Ape Escape.

In related news, a rumour from last month claimed that Konami was working on a Nintendo Switch 2 port of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The upcoming console has yet to reveal its slate of first and third-party titles, though a Direct taking place on 2 April might give us all the answers we need.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will launch on 28 August 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
