Announced during the most recent State of Play stream, Metro Awakening VR was revealed for PlayStation VR2. PC players were wondering whether or not the game would make its way to PC VR and it seems that is the case. According to Deep Silver, Metro Awakening VR is also headed to PC VR sometime later this year.
According to Deep Silver, the game will launch across PS VR2, Steam VR and Meta Quest 2 and 3. The game is being developed by Vertigo Games, the studio best known for titles such as Arizona Sunshine and the 7th Guest.
Metro Awakening VR is set in the Metro universe created by Dmitry Glukhovsky. It will take the traditional FPS horror action we know from the main games and put players into a virtual reality perspective. I think it is going to do quite well considering how immersive the world already is.
I can only imagine exploring the underground and wilderness in VR. Metro Exodus is still one of my favourite shooters of all time. Visually speaking, it still holds up as one of the best-looking games on the market too. So imagine that in VR.
We don’t know exactly when Metro Awakening VR will launch. However, according to the trailer, the game is expected to arrive sometime this year. The trailer reveals a bit of gameplay as players sneak through the darkness and shoot their way through human enemies and mutated creatures.
