It’s been over half a decade since Metroid Prime 4 was initially revealed. The highly anticipated sequel has since gone through numerous development changes including a studio switch, though there has been no sign of it arriving anytime soon. However, the game has now appeared on the Nintendo UK site, suggesting that an update or new reveal might be closer than anticipated.
As spotted by Reddit user SemiLazyGamer, a site for Metroid Prime 4 mysteriously showed up on Nintendo UK yesterday, asking users to sign up in order to receive any potential news. It’s nothing particularly exciting but the fact that the site is now up and running means that we could get a new trailer or reveal sooner rather than later.

Of course, there’s the issue of Nintendo’s absence from all major gaming events taking place this month. Following the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo chose to bow out of hosting any of its annual showcases during this time period. It’s entirely possible that Nintendo could announce a surprise Direct sometime soon that might contain the Metroid Prime 4 re-reveal.
On the other hand, Nintendo could also choose to let Metroid Prime 4 slip into its next-gen console which is reportedly in development. Tears of the Kingdom seems like a fitting swan song for the Nintendo Switch, though it’s bizarre that no major releases from the company are planned to release in the second half of 2023 – or early 2024 for that matter, unless it’s accompanied by new hardware.
We have nothing to go on right now other than speculation following the site going live. In the meantime, fans can enjoy Metroid Prime Remastered, a full remaster of the first Metroid Prime, which is currently available on Nintendo Switch.
