Nintendo fans are running around trying to order the physical copy of Metroid Prime Remastered. The remastered game, which launched digitally already last month, is releasing in physical form tomorrow 3 March in SA and has already been seen as a collector’s item in other countries. So much so that gamers simply cannot find stock of the game anywhere.
Scalpers have already managed to pick up a bulk of the stock and have listed it for sale for almost double the price online. In the United States, Metroid Prime Remastered is difficult to find. According to Gamestop and Best Buy, gamers who didn’t pre-order the physical edition can’t walk into a store to purchase it. That is not until Nintendo replenishes stock.

Nintendo has stated that the company is aware of the stock shortages. In a statement, Nintendo promised it will meet the massive demand for Metroid Prime Remastered at retail stores across the globe.
It seems that the initial stock shortage happened after the physical release in the United States. While the game is only releasing in SA on 3 March, the hard copy was initially released in the US on 22 February. However, if you didn’t pre-order the game, you sadly missed out on picking it up. That’s because there is absolutely no stock available.
This news is an obvious warning. If you’re looking at picking up Metroid Prime Remastered in SA tomorrow, make sure you do it. By the sound of things, the stock is going to be extremely limited. While Nintendo has promised to replenish the shortages across the United States, we don’t know how that will fair for us South Africans.
