The Xbox brand’s iconic green colour is finally getting its debut on one of many available Xbox Wireless Controllers. Why it took Microsoft until 2023 to make this happen is still a mystery but I actually love this new model. Called the Velocity Green Xbox Wireless Controller, it is the latest variant to enter the market alongside others such as the Shock Blue, Pulse Red, Deep Pink and Electric Volt.
The Velocity Green Xbox Wireless Controller is green…. That’s about it but the unique factor to consider here is that the controller boasts the exact shade of green seen everywhere across the Xbox brand for years now. If there’s one controller you would want to own, this might be it.

Microsoft says the Velocity Green Xbox Wireless Controller packs all the usual features you can expect on the device. This includes a textured grip on both sides as well as textured trigger buttons. There are also symbols on the inner side of the ABXY buttons to indicate the button colour.
The controller will launch in the weeks ahead across the globe as well as land in South Africa soon. We don’t have pricing or an exact release date yet but it will likely retail for R1499 similar to the rest of the range. We’ll share pre-order news and updates as we get them.
