Microsoft has confirmed that Windows AI features will arrive on select AMD and Intel notebooks in November. Up to now, the Copilot Plus has been exclusive to Qualcomm-powered devices. However, since the announcement of the new Intel Lunar Lake CPUs, now known as the Intel Core Ultra 200V series, Microsoft has confirmed its plans to launch Copilot Plus outside of Qualcomm.
Microsoft says that all notebooks packing the new Intel Core Ultra 200V chips and running the latest version of Windows are eligible to receive Copilot Plus PC features as a free update starting in November.
The company followed up by confirming the feature for AMD Ryzen AI chips too. Those chips are now available already, we recently reviewed the latest ASUS Zenbook S 16 with the AMD Ryzen AI HX 370 CPU.
Microsoft will roll Copilot Plus out slowly at first. Select features will be available for all devices but others will only launch in Windows Insider testing before being broadly available for more users.

Copilot Plus comes with a number of enhancements and AI tools. Notebooks will also benefit from Microsoft’s new Auto Super Resolution, a DLSS competitor that uses AI to boost frame rates in games by upscaling content.
This tech uses the CPU’s NPU cores to offload the upscaling processes away from the CPU and GPU. It is a relatively new technology so we’ll have to see how it holds up over time.
Copilot Plus is also a big feature for notebooks right now and not so much for desktop PCs. Other features include improved Windows Studio Effects and the ability for apps like DaVinci Resolve Studio to use the NPU chip to accelerate tasks. Microsoft is also planning to bring its Recall AI features to Copilot Plus PCs. The feature was delayed after security concerns. It is expected to go live in October.
