Microsoft Will Showcase Starfield in Detail Next Month

Microsoft promises lots of Starfield content next month as the company tries to recover from the disastrous launch of Redfall. The Xbox division confirmed that the Summer Showcase will take place on 11 June and will feature some “new surprises”. The showcase will play host to a number of titles and so-called “first looks” from the first-party development team at Xbox. However, straight after the Summer Showcase, the company will stream a deep dive on Starfield.

Xbox is calling this special stream the “Starfield Direct”. The company says the stream will play host to new gameplay, developer interviews and behind-the-scenes insider information. Expect Starfield to be fleshed out in-depth during this showcase. We are talking full gameplay look, mechanics, exploration and more (or so we hope).

After the Starfield Direct, there is yet another stream called the Xbox Games Showcase Extended. This stream will dive further into the games announced during the initial stream before the Starfield Direct stream. This takes place on 13 June at 1 pm ET, 19:00 CAT. Yes, it all sounds very drawn-out but we have nothing better to do now that E3 2023 has been cancelled.

You can tune into the Xbox Summer Showcase on 11 June at 1 pm ET / 19:00 CAT. The Starfield Direct will take place right after that. We don’t know the exact time yet because the duration of the Xbox Games Showcase hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Microsoft has some high expectations to reach during its Summer Showcase and Starfield Direct. The company’s rather lacklustre lineup of games over the past 18 months means the showcase has to announce exciting titles, release dates and show us gameplay. We know there’s a new Forza Motorsport game headed our way this year but what else is in store?

Starfield is the next big game on the horizon. It was originally meant to release in November last year but was delayed to 2023. The game is now scheduled to launch on 6 September for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
