Ever wanted to slap on a VR headset and teleport into the world of Minecraft? Well, soon you can. Sony announced that a free Minecraft PS VR update is coming soon to the game bringing full virtual reality support. Roger Carpenter announced the news on the PlayStation Blog claiming the feature is something Mojang has planned since cross-play was added.
According to the announcement, the update is free for everyone who owns the game already. No extra purchases are needed. The patch will arrive on all editions of Minecraft on PlayStation 4. Downloading the patch will grant users access to the Minecraft PS VR functionality.
Best of all, the game is 100% the same game that you already play every day. Mojang claims they are not removing anything from the experience at all.

It is 100% the same Minecraft game that you can play every day, every week, every month, every year…on PlayStation 4. Nothing removed. 100% wholesome & pure full-fat Minecraft.[/perfectpullquote]
While the game is the same, users will find a new range of settings to help make the VR experience more enjoyable. There are two ways users can play the game in VR: Immersive and Living Room Modes. Mojang did not share details on the modes yet. However, they did announce that users will use the DualShock 4 controller to move around so the overall gameplay approach will remain the same.
