After Technoblade’s passing, streamers, esports players and fellow content creators, alongside fans, began pouring out messages of grief and support. It seems that creator Mojang itself has also acknowledged the impact that Technoblade had had on his community and the world of Minecraft.

The developer has since updated the Java Edition launch screen for Minecraft to honour Technoblade, by adding his YouTube icon – a Minecraft pig with a crown on its head. Fans of Minecraft spotted the update to the Java Edition launch screen with the crowned Minecraft pig in the image, a salute from developer Mojang to Technoblade.

Technoblade’s tragic passing was announced in a YouTube video which was posted on the 1st of July, whereby Technoblade’s father read a statement regarding his son’s passing.

“Thank you all for supporting my content over the years. If I had another hundred lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade again every single time as those were the happiest years of my life.”

Developer Mojang also issued a statement, as well as the tribute, regarding the passing of Technoblade, on the Minecraft official Twitter account.

“We have been trying to find the words, but all of us here at Minecraft are heartbroken over the loss of Technoblade. He meant so much to our community and brought so much joy. He will be missed dearly. 🐷👑🗡️”
