Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 hasn’t done as well as Activision hoped. While the studio claimed the game was the most engaged COD game in the Modern Warfare 3 series, the title is now the lowest-selling version in the series too.
Modern Warfare 3 topped the UK software sales chart in November during its launch. However, it dropped significantly in the chart shortly after. It also didn’t last as long in the No.1 spot as Modern Warfare 2. Keep in mind that the game still did incredibly well. It even managed to kick EA Sports FC 24 off the chart for a few weeks but in comparison to last year’s COD, it didn’t make as big of a splash.

As for console sales, 486k hardware units were sold in November. This is 32% up from November 2022. The PS5 made up over half of those sales ahead of the Xbox Series X/S and Switch. PS5 sales were up 126% in comparison to 2022. Xbox sales were up 4% while Switch sales dropped 19%.
The PS5 has sold very well over the past six months. Data shows that Sony’s console has accounted for 51% of all console sales from May to October 2023.
