Capcom has teamed up with TiMi to bring another Monster Hunter game to mobile devices called Monster Hunter Outlanders. TiMi is best known for its work on other mobile games including Pokemon Unite and Call of Duty Mobile. The studio says Monster Hunter Outlanders is an open-world survival game that includes solo play and co-op with up to four players.
Monster Hunter Outlanders looks like it incorporates most of the best features from the series but on a larger scale. The survival mechanics are new and might turn some players off but the open-world approach lets players explore large areas and hunt down monsters using weapons and gear they craft.
The trailer gives us a glimpse at some of the gameplay. Visually, Monster Hunter Outlanders looks quite impressive. We can see the player take on some of the well-known monsters from the series. At the same time, they are able to explore the world freely and use a paraglider to glide around from high areas. Players can also swim through large water beds and swing from tree vines and rocks. There’s also a shot of the player actively scaling a wall and staying in that position. So it hints at more freedom than ever before (we hope).
At the moment, Monster Hunter Outlanders doesn’t have a release date. Capcom says the game will get several play tests in advance of the actual launch. I suspect it will be released in 2025 sometime.
