PlayStation Plus members can now pre-load the Monster Hunter Wilds beta ahead of its release tomorrow morning. The beta is expected to go live at 05:00 SAST tomorrow morning giving users enough time to get the download done before the launch. The total file size for the beta is 16.6GB on PS5.
We have already put together a full guide on the Monster Hunter Wilds beta test. The test includes two main missions as well as the game’s character creator. Players can also tweak their characters as many times as they want in the beta and change their looks.
The beta is rolling out in phases. The first phase is the PlayStation Plus version which comes with 48 hours of early access. Following this, the beta will launch on PS5 for non-PS+ members, Xbox Series X/S and on PC through Steam.

Players who access the beta during these listed times above will unlock rewards for the full game when it launches in 2025. These items include:

- Five Lifepowder
- Two Max Potions
- Two Herbal Medicines
- Two Nulberries
- Five Armor Spheres
The beta will then take players through the opening cutscene for the game and the tutorial mission. This mission will see players hunt down the Chatacabra.
Following this mission, players will then be dropped into an open map where they can freely explore the area while tracking down an Alpha Doshaguma. They can ride their Seikret mount and switch between two different weapons.
Players will also be able to repeat these missions as much as they like. They can also invite friends to hunt with them and join public lobbies. The beta also includes cross-play.
